Last day of school

Just a few more pics of the boys last day of preschool and 1st grade, and I had to have one for Whitley, too. As you can see, Taggert is much smaller than the other kids. It's okay though because he has one more year of preschool to try and catch up. He is counting up to 10 now! Tanner's school had an awards assembley and he won the "most outstanding reader" award. He really does amaze me. He is so happy for school to be out and I'm happy that I don't have to drag him out of bed in the morning.

Whitley doesn't really like to be on her belly. I got her pictures taken a couple of weeks ago and the photographer put her on her belly to get a few shots and she turned over for the very first time! The doctor told me at her six month visit that it usually takes these "bigger" babies a little longer to roll over. I'm okay with it because I'm not ready for her to be mobile. She's growing up way too fast for me. It makes me sad that these fun times go by so quickly.

Memorial Weekend

Our weekend started in pioneer clothes in the pouring rain! Trent and I are going to be a Ma and Pa for Trek this year and we were having a training for it. It was supposed to be an overnighter, but we got rained out. We did get to practice pulling the handcarts, empty, and it was a little tough, especially up the big hill. We even got to enjoy some burnt chicken broth that would have been tasty, if not for the burnt taste. Trek is in two weeks so pray for us that we make it out alive. (We have heard that we are going to be hiking about 30 miles in four days!)Sorry, no pics, yet(:

Saturday we helped push the cows over the mountain. Tanner is getting really good at riding the horse by himself. Grandpa got a saddle for him that is just his size, now he thinks we need to ride every day. I think Grandpa would probably be really content doing that. Tag can't ride by himself but he likes to ride, too. We didn't get Whitley on the horse this time because it was rainy and cold, but I think she will like it.

Monday we headed to the hills to do some hiking and geocaching. It has been so fun geocaching. Tanner loves it because we get to use the GPS and find treasures. Usually you bring something to put in the cache and you get to take something out. They are all over the place. We had a good weekend. And now the summer begins because my kids are out of school and I have no idea how I am going to keep Tanner from getting bored. If you have any ideas, let me know(:

House in Hell

What's that story about J. Golden Kimball? He came to visit the Saints in ST. George and told them if he had a home in hell and a house in St. George, he'd sell the house and move home-ha, ha, ha(: Well, that's how we were feeling yesterday!!! It was 110 degrees here!!! And it's only May. I think we are in for a long, hot summer): I am so excited): NOT!!

We tried to cool off a little in the pond behind our house. I think it helped, a little. Yes, we actually found a swimsuit to fit Whitley. She looked so cute. She didn't like the water, but she looked good. Taggert tried to drown himself a couple of times. He couldn't understand that there was a slope, but it didn't keep him from wanting to be in the water.

Whitley's six months old!

Wish you were that flexible, huh?

Whitley is a growing girl! I just had her at the doctor's and she weighs 22lbs. and 15oz, and is 271/4" long! She is sitting up all by herself . She is starting to eat baby food which I think is helping her sleep through the night (It's about time:) And she is just fun to have around. I tell her that all the time. She is such a good baby, now that her acid reflux is under control. I just took her off her medicine about three weeks ago and she is still doing really good without it. WE are just really grateful to have her!!!

For Larry

This is just for Larry. He wanted a picture of Trent's new truck so here it is. Just so everyone knows, we don't own this truck. It is Trent's work truck. His boss made him the superintendent so he has been traveling a lot and has been gone a lot, too. So I guess we'll take the good and the bad! The good news is we can use it whenever we want so it's like ours, we just don't have to pay insurance or a truck payment!!!

Family fun

I had to get this on video because it sounds so funny and I have no idea how she does it. She had us all laughing that day. I remember when Tanner was a baby, we use to say that we didn't need to go to a movie because we had TANNER for entertainment. Well, it must be hereditary because now we have WHITLEY to entertain us!

We went to California this last weekend for Christy's step son's wedding in the Los Angeles Temple. That Temple is a fortress! We really wanted to go to Disneyland while we were there, but we took the kids to the beach instead. (It was cheaper!) It was their first time ever to play in the ocean. Tanner loved it! Taggert didn't think he would like it. He clung to me, but then once I dipped his toes in, he didn't think it was too bad. Whitley had just woke up from a nap so I'm sure she was wondering what the heck was going on. I wish we could have stayed longer, but it was a fun break from the car.

Oh, and speaking of car... we got a new one! Trent came home from work early last week, which is very unusual these days, and told me to get ready because we were going to St. George to get me a car. We had been looking at the Mazda C-X9 since the summer and we were trying to figure out how we could aford it. Then, a couple of weeks ago Trent came home with a new Dodge that he said Davey had bought for him as a work truck. So that just took care of our financial problem. We actually took our new car to California and we are so grateful that we don't have to drive our little Dogde Intrepid anymore!

Easter in Bloom

We took this picture Easter weekend, just before we headed up north. (For those of you who know Littlefield, this was taken just above the cemetary) The desert can actually be pretty! We rode the 4-wheeler up there and there were flowers everywhere. It smelled good, too! We couldn't seem to get all the kids to look at us as we tried to take the picture and we took several, but it still turned out cute!

I didn't get very many pictures from Easter because I left my chip in the computer. I was downloading pictures so I'd be sure to have plenty of room for Whitley's first Easter, and then forgot to put it back in the camera so here are a few that I got. We found these in Whitley's Easter basket and had to put them on her. We had a family party and I think not ten minutes after we got there, Whitley pooped all over herself and her carseat. I happen to know her very well and had a change of clothes for her!
