The beautiful St. George Temple
So, I have been trying to make family home evening a little more memorable, a little more creative, a little more fun. I got some really great ideas from the Ensign last month and so last Monday, we just looked at some pictures of different Temples and talked about what goes on inside. This Monday we actually went to the Temple. In my head, I am picturing our cute little family holding hands and quietly walking around the Temple grounds, admiring the beauty of that magnificent edifice, the picture of a perfect LDS family who has taught their children the importance of such places and that we need to use our quiet voices. Well, to my complete and utter dismay, the Temple stairs became a race to the top with screaming and even some pushing from Tag, and as I am trying to get a decent picture of my four little angels, it is time to descend. So not the cute family photo op I was hopoing for. I was frantically trying to get them all in the same frame. It was a nightmare. I am looking at Trent and he is looking at me like why are we doing this? We thought maybe going into the visitor's center might be more entertaining for them, maybe a movie would calm them down, oh, but no, that was not the answer either. There was a display of all these Books of Mormon in different languages. Tag was rearranging them and putting them in piles. And, then I was trying to show Whitley a picture of a couple getting married. "See, she has on her white dress", I said, and then she starts whining, "Where's my white dress, I can't see the picture."

I hope that when my kids are older and I have no more brain cells left, that they will remember these times that I actually did try and teach them the gospel. I love my kids, honest I do(: I feel so very lucky to be their mother and I know they will remember, no matter how crazy they make me in the process.

We did try and touch the Temple but Brinley is looking down that pipe in the background and Tag and Whitley are behind that tree to the right.

The Temple upon our leaving is breathing a sigh of relief.
